True Patriot Love 2010 Kickoff Press Conference
They’re your young neighbor next door, your best friend’s little brother, the “twenty and thirty-something” man or woman that are among the more than 1500 Canadian soldiers that have been injured, wounded or have died in the Afghan mission since it began in 2002. The True Patriot Love Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness about their serious psychological and physical injuries, because their arrival home is just the beginning of a long and difficult healing process. These young soldiers are not alone in their rehabilitation; they have families, husbands, wives and children who are greatly affected. Today, the True Patriot Love Foundation honours these young veterans and acknowledges their need for help and your assistance.
Named Gala of the year in 2009 by the National Post, the True Patriot Love Foundation will be hosting a press conference on Tuesday June 1, 2010 to announce the details for their second annual tribute gala dinner, in support of the Canadian Military Families Fund (CMFF), “Soldier On” and other charities that step in and assist military persons where the Canadian government is unable to. The conference will be held at the TD Bank Tower, 66 Wellington St W. 54th Fl., 11AM. Families all over Canada make sacrifices to allow soldiers to serve our country and as Canadians we need to support and honor not only the military men and women who serve, but also their families.
Join us with Gen Rick Hillier- founder of CMFF, Shaun Francis- Founder of the True Patriot Love Foundation, Canadian military soldiers and other supporters, as we address the urgent and unforeseen needs of military families. Last year’s inaugural gala raised over $2 million and is the largest Canadian fundraiser in support of military families.
About True Patriot Love Foundation: The True Patriot Love Foundation steps in to assist military families in unforeseen and urgent needs that result from military duty, including rehabilitation after an injury, educational support for children with special needs on remote bases, financial assistance in the case of injury or death, and urgent and extraordinary financial demands where the ability to provide family necessities is at risk.
