I am a proud wife of a military veteran.
I make sacrifices for our freedom,
I never ask about his mission,
I wait to hear the outcome.

I am a spouse of a man who served for our country.
I listen to the tragic stories he had to witness,
I see him staring off bleakly,
I help him with self forgiveness.

I am in love with an injured soldier.
I feel the weight of the trauma surround us,
I struggle to break down the armor,
I rebuild my purpose.

I am a partner to someone with an invisible wound.
I hold on tight when times get tough,
I keep my emotions bound,
I deal with more than enough.

We are companions who fight against this combat disorder.
We recognize our love is too rare to abort,
We are looking for an answer,
We ask for support.
