About
True Patriot Love is a national foundation that supports and honours members of the Canadian military and their families. It was founded by a group of citizens dedicated to building bridges between Canadian civilians and their military, in order to better understand and appreciate the sacrifices of soldiers and their families. In celebrating the patriotism of our military families, our foundation also strives to inspire Canadians to serve their country, whether it’s in or out of uniform.
Since our inception, we have provided the following support:
- $1 million to Military Families Fund ($250K directly from Heritage Canada in honour of the Prince of Wales’ visit to Canada) to assist military families faced with unforeseen and often immediate needs as a result of service
- $100,000 to Soldier On to enable a delegation of 18 injured Canadian soldiers and a loved one to attend the Paralympics and witness first hand the capabilities of those facing similar challenges
- $70,000 to send military children to camp while a parent is deployed
- $10,000 to Hike for Heroes to help with the expense of building an accessible home for Cpl Billy Kerr, who lost both of his legs and one arm after an IED attack in 2008
- $6,200 to Military Family Resource Centres, a community-based non-profit organization established to provide information, support and referral programs designed to meet the needs of military families
- $5,000 to Veterans’ Food Bank
- $1,000 or less to other military charities or funds on an as-needed basis
We are very grateful to all of our generous donors who enable us to improve the morale and well-being of those who serve on our behalf and keep Canada safe.
