Helmets

2010

For the second year in a row, everyday Canadians and professional artists were recruited to serve the True Patriot Love cause. Through our Artists for Families Program, helmets like those that protect our soldiers were transformed into unique works of art. A symbol of protection and our hope for the safe return of our soldiers, each helmet now reflects each artist’s vision of Canada and honours the sacrifices made
by our military and their families. These helmets are for silent auction. They have become a key fundraising initiative and we would like to sincerely thank those who donated their time and talent to the cause.

2009

The cornerstone of the True Patriot Love Tribute Dinner Auction was the collection of 70 replica Canadian army helmets that were painted, sculpted and transformed by wonderful Canadian artists who gave generously of their time and talent to the Artists for Families Program. The helmets raised from several hundred dollars to an amazing $7,000.00 for helmet sculpted by Yolanda vanderGaast of Toronto’s MST Bronze Studios. We are eternally grateful to the artists who gave on behalf of the Canadian Military and their families. The breadth of talent and creative ideas caught us all by surprise.
